In 2023, Interfuse invested over £300k in state-of-the-art curing systems at both of its UK production plants, part of a wider strategy to enhance energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
The new systems, while still gas-powered, operate using an advanced air circulation design with integrated humidity control. This allows the generated heat within the ovens to be efficiently recycled and redistributed between individual chambers.
By minimising energy waste and optimising temperature consistency, the system delivers exceptional efficiency, lower operational costs, and a significantly reduced environmental footprint.

The newly installed systems, supplied and integrated by CDS Group, feature advanced insulation, precision control panels, and optimised burner configurations — all designed to improve thermal retention and process control.
As seen in the facility images, significant ductwork and system infrastructure upgrades were also carried out, ensuring consistent performance across the entire curing process.

Thanks to these enhancements, gas consumption has been reduced by 27.12% over the 12 month period following the installs, delivering both economic and environmental benefits. This move not only supports Interfuse’s sustainability goals but also reinforces its commitment to long-term operational efficiency.



Compared to our benchmark year of 2022, thanks to projects like this and a number of other operational improvements and equipment upgrades across both of our production plants CO₂ emissions per tonne of product have been cut by 37.91%. This reduction is equivalent to removing 100+ average petrol cars from the road — a clear demonstration of Interfuse’s commitment to environmental responsibility.
